About The Course
The Standard Mental Health First Aid Course teaches adult participants about the signs and symptoms of mental illness and the practical skills needed to support someone experiencing; a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis, until appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves.

Whether in a workplace, community group, or healthcare setting, this training empowers HR managers, social workers, and community members to intervene early, offer support, and respond effectively to mental health crises.
Course Content
This course covers common and disabling mental health problems and crisis situations.
Participants learn how to apply mental health first aid to adults across a range of situations, including:

Intervene Early

Respond In A Crisis

Since its inception in 2000, Mental Health First Aid has evolved into a global movement across Australia and in 30 countries. To date, over 4 million people worldwide have been trained, including over 1,000,000 Australians.

The Mental Health First Aid Program has been recognised with a number of Australian and international awards, including the THeMHS Medal. It has been recognised in the UK as an example of radical efficiency and has been listed in the USA by Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) on their National Registry of Evidence‑based Programs and Practices (NREPP).
